The next St Endellion Easter Festival will take place from 1st to 8th April 2018. The programme for the 2018 Festival is in preparation and details will be announced as soon as they are finalised. We can already confirm that David Watkin, Professor of Strings at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and Gramophone Award winner for his definitive recording of the Bach Cello Suites, has agreed to return as Guest Music Director of the 2018 Festival. His conducting of the St John Passion and of Brahms’ 1st Symphony inspired the chorus and orchestra to performances of extraordinary quality and intensity in the 2017 Festival, which also featured outstanding performances of Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, Tchaikovsky’s String Serenade, and Bach’s Goldberg Variations.
Meanwhile, we are keeping the 2017 Festival programme on this page of the website so that you can see the shape of our Easter Festivals – professional and good amateur musicians coming together to perform 9 concerts in 9 days – for free and for the love of it.
