ART EXHIBITION 2023
Lucy Davies/Victoria Young Jamieson
here and now
1 August – 11 August 2023, St Endellion Hall
Lucy Davies, The Language of Flowers | Victoria Young Jamieson, Flood Current |
Our 2023 Summer Festival Art Exhibition invites you to encounter Cornwall through the vision of artists whose art captures the immediacy of nature.
Lucy Davies appeared on Sky Landscape Artist of the Year in 2015 and spends every summer in Cornwall. Lucy draws inspiration from the stunning golden beaches of the north Cornish coast, evoking wide luminous skies, and the plants and flowers that flourish along the shore.
Victoria Young Jamieson grew up near Newquay and Cornwall remains a constant inspiration. Victoria abstracts the hues and currents of land and sea in vibrant multi-layered artworks, where colours and textures drift through each other, shifting across weather-beaten terrain, or spinning to create self-contained worlds.
Young artist Maddie Beattie, age 12, has come to the St Endellion Festival with her musician parents since she was a baby.
